Japanese researchers say a major earthquake could occur on a peninsula east of Tokyo, and a separate space from that which caused the great Kanto earthquake of 1923. The Geospatial Information Authority of Japan said in a government panel Wednesday that the analysis of all elements of the positioning system shows that the tip of the Boso peninsula, moves north about 3 centimeters every year since 1997.
