The workshop, chaired by Vice EP, Othmar Karas (EPP, Austria), will consider "an effective system of democratic control" of the G20 and the Ambassador of Mexico to the EU, Sandra Funetes-Berain will present the priorities of the country for the session.Two panels will discuss the issue of governance in the 21 century and the return to growth conditions. In the first  panel will examine both the economic and the political aspects of governance, chaired by the head of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the EP, Elmar Brok (EPP, Germany) with a speaker including the head of the OECD G20, Gabriela Ramos. The second panel discussed the conditions of a return to growth, chaired by the head of the International Trade Committee, Vital Moreira (Portugal Socialists), including a lecture by Lorenzo Bini Smaghi, a former board member of the ECB.
